Congrats on getting apple inc brand new iPhone 4 in Singapore. Do you experiencing reception problem on your iPhone 4? If you do, you are eligible to receive an iPhone 4 bumper or third-party case from apple for free!

First of all, on your iPhone 4, Tap App Store-> Tap Search-> Type iPhone 4 Case Program (As shown below).

Scroll down the search from the App Store and Tap on Apple Inc. iPhone 4 Case Program (As shown below).

Tap on Free and install it to your iPhone 4 using your Apple ID and Password. After which please follow the details from the app.

If you got/purchased your iPhone 4 before 23rd July 2010, you must register before 22nd August 2010 to qualify for the iPhone 4 Case Program.

iPhone 4 Local Price had been Released.

iPhone 4 local price had been released. For 16GB, it will cost you SGD$888 and for 32GB, it will cost you SGD$1048.

While the iPhone 3Gs, they only have 8GB and it will cost you SGD$748. According to the local telecommunication network which is SingTel, M1 and StarHub, they will offer you the iPhone4 16GB version monthly plan which is under SGD$40 but you need to pay the iPhone 4 for the sum of SGD$480- SGD$500.

It will be official release on this Friday, 30th July 2010.

iPhone 4 to be Release in Singapore on July 30

iPhone 4 will be releasing in Singapore on July 30th 2010! Singaporeans can get iPhone 4 from all three of the local telcos which is SingTel, M1 and StarHub. The price and the plan are yet to finalist.

Why I Cannot use my iPhone to Surf the Net

Question: Why I cannot use my iPhone to Surf the net?

Answer: Did you ON your Wi-Fi or 3G connection?

For Wi-Fi, if you are at McDonald's, Starbuck, Coffeebean or elsewhere which has Wi-Fi enabled in their outlets, you can detect their wireless network or connect through Wireless@SG. If you are connect to their network, please check with the staff, if it is password protected.

If you are connect through Wireless@SG, you need to register as a member first before you can surf the net.

To connect to iPhone Wi-Fi, please tap setting-> Wi-Fi-> ON -> Wait for it to detect the network and choose the connection which you are located.

If you are not using Wi-Fi, please OFF it.

For 3G connection, first of all, you need to subscribe to any of the local three network providers for DATA plan in order to use the 3G connection to surf the net.

If you cannot surf the net, most likely you are not subscribe to any of their DATA plan bundle or please check if you enable 3G connection from your iPhone. Or you are in the MRT underground which could not receive the signal.

To ON the 3G connection, please tap setting-> General-> Network-> Enable 3G-> ON.

iPhone4 yet to Launch in Singapore

Up to now (19 July 2010), iPhone 4 yet to launch in Singapore. If you see elsewhere which sell iPhone4, it is import set and you cannot able to use it in Singapore due to lock version.

Apple had already announced that iPhone4 will be launching in Hong Kong, Singapore and some of the countries in July, so please be patient and wait for apple announcement for the confirmation date when the iPhone4 will be launching in Singapore.

You can express your interest by visiting to any of the three Singapore local network providers from their website.

Even you visit to apple authorized premium resellers shop, they will also told you that the iPhone4 yet to launch yet and there is no confirmation when it will be launching and there is no price yet.

Pricing for iPhone 3Gs in Singapore

The pricing for iPhone 3Gs pricing without contract/plan in Singapore are:

16GB- S$1040

32GB- S$1240.

In Singapore, all iPhone price without contract/plan are controlled and you cannot find elsewhere cheaper or expensive.

If you want cheaper price for iPhone 3Gs, you need to tie with 2 years contract/plan with Singapore local three telecommunication network providers which is, SingTel, M1 and StarHub.

Please check with the local network providers for more information on their contract/plan packages which offers you.

Service Centre for iPhone in Singapore

Many people had came to me and asked me, Can I repair my my iPhone here or/and where is the service centre?

In Singapore, the iPhone warranty are covered by the Singapore local Three majors telecommunication (Telecos) providers, which is SingTel, M1 and Starhub.

All iPhone sold with or without contract/plan from local telecos shops and apple premium resellers are covered by respective local telecos.

There are no such cases that the iPhone can be repair by Epicentre, iStudio, nubox and/or others major apple authorized premium resellers outlet.

If you get your iPhone from unauthorized dealers, please check with them if you could repair your iPhone from them or/and will there be any warranty covered before you decide to purchase it.

How to make my Song to iPhone Ringtone?

You might encounter this issue and asked, why I cant set my own song to my iPhone Ringtone? Is there a way for me to do it? The answer is Yes but it will takes quite some time for you to set your song to iPhone Ringtone.

All you have to do is to follow those simple steps below.

1. Open any of your computer file. Scroll to TOOLS and click Folder Options.

2. In Folder Options, Click on View and scroll down to find 'Hide extensions for known file types'.

3. Unchecked 'Hide extensions for known file types'. After that, you will see your filename with a format shown.

4. Open your iTunes.

5. Choose the song which you wish to covert it to ringtone.

6. Click the song, click on 'Create AAC version'. Wait for it to convert to AAC format to your computer.

7. Click on your song which is AAC format, Select 'Get Info'.

8a. In Get Info, click Options. Type the song seconds in the 'Start time' and 'End Time' within 30sec.

8b. For example, my favourite song chore is from 0:44 to 1:00.

8c. Input the number at the Start Time and End Time as Start Time: 0:44 End Time: 1:00

8D. Click OK to Confirm.

9. Click the song which you created AAC format earlier on, follow the step 6 again.

10. After that, you will see your new song AAC format file time as 0:30 in the Music LIBRARY.

11a. Delete your 2 songs AAC format in Music LIBRARY. It will prompt you a small box question.

11b. The question prompt 'Are you sure you want to remove....'. Click Remove.

11c. It will ask if you want to keep the file, put into recycle bin. Click Keep the File.

12a. Next, locate your new song AAC format file folder. (Normally it will be saved at iTunes folder)

12b. You will see your file as mysong.m4a and mysong(1).m4a

12c. Select the AAC format which is 30seconds. (Normally it will be mysong(1).m4a. You may wish to delete the older version (mysong.m4a) of AAC format.)

13a. Right click, Select rename.

13b. Change the format from mysong(1).m4a to mysong(1).m4r format.

13c. It will prompt you as, 'If you change a file name..... Are you sure you want to change it?' Click Yes to make the change.

14. You will noticed that the file will write as RING instead of MPEG.

15a. Drag your song which is m4r format (RING) to the LIBRARY.

15b. It will be automatic locate at Ringtones LIBRARY.

16. In Ringtones, Tick your song Ringtones and sync to your iPhone.

17. Finally, you can enjoy your very own 30 seconds of Ringtone!

New OS Update

There is a new update OS version for Apple iPhone/iPod Touch. It is now known as OS 4.0.1. You may wish to update it.

How to Update iPhone OS 4.0

On June 22nd 2010, apple had released a new firmware of OS 4.0 for all iPhone and iTouch users. For those who own iPhone 3Gs, you can see the most impact of the new firmware of OS 4.0 compare to iPhone 3G and iTouch users. As their changes will be very limited. For example, iPhone and iTouch users unable to change their wallpaper on their home screen.

To update the firmware OS 4.0, you need the following items before you can proceed.

Index A

1. iTunes program*.

2. A computer which connect to the internet.

3. apple USB cable.

4. apple iPhone/ iTouch devices.

Index B

Firstly, making sure that your computer connect to the internet.

After which, open your iTunes program. Please make sure that your iTunes version is 9.2.0.61

Next, use the apple USB cable and connect to your computer and apple iPhone/ i Touch devices.

Forth, iTunes will automatic syncing your apple devices to your computer.

Next, it will automatic backing up your apple devices data to your computer.

Sixth, on the Left column, scroll down to devices, click on it.

After that, you will see many tabs folders on the right column. Choose 'Summary'.

Then, you will see three (3) rolls, which is iPhone, Version and Options.

Ninth, choose version and click on check for update.

After that, it will prompt you iPhone have new update of firmware OS 4.0

Click update and it will prompt you if you want to backup your apps/data to the computer. Click OK to continue.

After it back up to the computer, it will now syncing your iPhone to firmware OS 4.0. It will takes about 15-25 minutes to update. Your iPhone will auto switch on and off. So, please do not plug out the USB cable or the iPhone.

My BEST ADVICE to you is that, please switch ON your iPhone to Airplane mode so that while syncing and updating, you will not able to receive any call or messages. And it will not stop updating. It will stop updating and syncing if someone call or message you.

When it is complete, it will stated on the Version (Refer to Index B, Paragraph 6-8) as Your iPhone is now successful updating to firmware OS 4.0. Click OK to disconnect.

Now, you are using the brand new iPhone firmware OS 4.0!! Enjoy the excitement of the new firmware of OS 4.0!! Remember to OFF the Airplane mode if you ON it!

On June 22nd, 2010, apple released iPhone firmware OS 4.0 and those who yet to update to new firmware, you might not know what can the new firmware OS 4.0 can do it for you!
